I'm Working *Update* III

Hey guys, 'sup. I have been busily working on my story and have a made a lot of changes. Here is the most recent version:

Signing off,

PROLOGUEPage Break
My name was Abner Young.  I was twelve years old and had had experiences that no Human should have to experience.
I slammed the front door of my house, my blond hair shining in the autumn sun. I sat on the steps, fuming, angry at my adoptive mom and sister. My biological mother had died the day that I was born, and my father abandoned me. Dad of the year, right?
I was put into a foster home, blah, blah, blah, until I was finally adopted. My adoptive parents were *cough* cruel and ruthless, beating my sister and I at every chance. The Association of Child/Parent Abuse and Help (ACPAH) got involved, but didn't do much. My biological sister was in the backyard, swinging on our swing set. My adoptive parents were like Cinderella's story come true;  they had no idea what I had been through lately. Guys at school were always beating me up and calling me names. Then I came home everyday only to be yelled at and abused. I was tired of it. I had to get away. The screen door opened and my adoptive parents stepped out. My adoptive dad kicked me. I winced and looked down.
"Hey you," He said. "We're going to the store. Are you goin'?"
"No," I replied angrily. "I'll stay here and take care of Abigail."
He shrugged and kicked me again, harder. It really hurt. "Fine. If I come back and there is so much as a scratch on the wall, I will beat your [bad word that I really shouldn't write]."
I recoiled. "Y-yes sir."
Their green Mustang GT rumbled to life and flew down the road. I watched until I could no longer see, then sprinted into the house. I had to hurry.
I grabbed my phone and shoved it in my pocket. I then ran into my room and picked up a travel bag. I stuffed it full of coats, clothes, and blankets. I threw in a few books, a flashlight, and my allowance.
I sprinted into the kitchen, my bag banging on the walls. (No jokes, please.) I grabbed a mini cooler and stuffed it full of assorted foods and drinks. Now I was ready.
The door opened and I dashed next to the kitchen entrance, unable to be seen. How were they back so fast?
My adoptive mom walked through.
"SURPRISE!!!" I yelled. She nearly jumped ten feet in the air and turned to face me. I punched her in the stomach and she doubled over in pain. I brought my elbow down onto her neck. She collapsed and passed out.
"BOY, IF I DON'T KILL YOU, YOU BETTER PRAISE THE LORD!" my adoptive dad said. He stomped towards me. I ran towards him and ducked as he swung his arm out. I twirled behind him and planted a roundhouse kick into his spine.
He collapsed and groaned, his wind just having been knocked out.
My adoptive dad rolled over and tried to stand up. Before he could do anything, though, I thumped him, hard, between the eyes. He slumped over and passed out. Karate class really came in handy sometimes.
The door swung open and a little girl screamed. Abigail. What was I going to do? I couldn't hurt her!
I hid at the kitchen entrance and silently waited as she walked across the living room floor. As she passed by, I jumped behind her and put her in a headlock. She tried to scream and quickly began to lose air. Her eyes closed and she slumped over. Good. She wasn't dead, but she would be out for a while. All of them would.
I grabbed my bag and cooler and ran outside. I dashed into the backyard and opened the shed door. I frantically scanned the big room until my eyes fell upon a machete. I grabbed it and stuffed it into my bag. I jumped onto my bike, closed the shed, and threw my bag and cooler into the basket.
I road a while as it began to get dark. I pedaled so hard that my legs hurt. I had been shaking.
I dumped my bike beside a Wendy's after, what, thirty minutes? More or less. I walked towards the woods behind Archer Lodge Middle School and settled deep. I built a lean-over and spread my blankets out under it.
I checked my watch. It was 8:30 P.M. I took out my flashlight and layed my machete beside me just in case some animal tried to attack.
I laid down and drifted to sleep, too nervous to eat...

I was fourteen and lived pretty well on my own. Last year, I bought a Shed-in-a-box at a nearby farmer store. I was actually pretty surprised that nobody had stumbled through the woods and discovered me. Not just that, but I was also surprised that my name wasn't all over the news. They must've wanted to keep it quiet.
Food Lion was my main source of food. I'd had to change my appearance from blond hair and blue eyes to black hair and green eyes (long story), so I could go out in public with no trouble. I worked at McDonalds in my free time, although I recently quit the job so that I could focus on school and take care of someone from a different world. Confused, yet? Stay tuned!
My sister on the other hand... I had reluctantly left her behind. I had had no choice. She would have never survived in the woods. Besides, she was in better hands with ACPAH. Or at least I hoped she was.

Six thousand years ago, Greek scientists made a discovery. Every three thousand years, the planet of Dyleros, in the Andromeda Galaxy, traveled too close to Earth.
This established a connection between the two planets, allowing Humans to teleport to Dyleros, if they wanted.
The Dylerians, however, were a Human-like species, except peaceful. They could only come to Earth if someone on Earth managed to do the correct ritual.
However, Dylerians could also inhabit a Human's body, if the Human accepted, without having to come to Earth.
And guess what? Right again! That's exactly what happened here!

CHAPTER 1

I woke up to the sound of rumbling cars and the back-and-forth yelling of teens. Time for school, unfortunately. I didn't really like school. I bet you're wondering right now why I don't just drop out. I'm not, because I am currently trying to stay under the radar, and if I drop out, that could get awfully suspicious.
I stood up and rubbed my head. I flattened my blanket that had lay under me, keeping my body from touching the dirty ground. I picked up an old mirror and studied myself. I didn't look like I lived on the street. Good. I picked up my four-inch binder and jogged to school. I reached the end of the woods and hid behind a shrub, waiting until the coast was clear.
A girl named Enitzaria was leaning against the brick school building, checking her watch and glancing around as if looking for something. She looked intimidating and beautiful at the same time- her soft face was contorted into a frown, her purple eyes intelligent and sparkling. Her blond, curly hair stirred as the warm spring wind gently brushed through it. Nature seemed to make her skin look creamy and rich.
It seemed to swirl around her, enhancing her beauty. She made a small, irritated sigh, as if the person that she was waiting for was taking too long.
I looked around and saw that no one else was around besides her and stood up. I quickly jogged over to her as her eyes locked on me.
"Abner!" She cried, hugging me. "I was worried that something had happened! You hadn't showed up yet, and I didn't know if something had happened!"
Enitzaria, whom everybody called Itzy, was a Dylerian. The Connection had just began a week ago, and I had performed the ritual, allowing her to come to Earth. Now we were pals. It just so happened that she had been a Dylerian gifted with a rare power- The Power of the Elements.
We walked to Science class together. Today was lab day!
"Anything new?" I asked her. Her mother had also come to Earth, and was struggling to adapt to the Human ways.
She shook her head. "Well, nothing besides the fact that my mother bought ice cream and mixed it with grilled chicken." She shuddered. "She offered me some, and I said 'No thanks' and tried not to gag. What about-"
I felt something collide with my head, and I crashed to the ground. Itzy yelled and looked around frantically. Adrenaline pumped through me as I shot to my feet, observing my surroundings. There was a tennis ball rolling across the floor. That must've been what pounded the side of my head.
But the main question was this: Who threw the ball? That wasn't such a tough question though, considering my middle school life. Then I heard the familiar voices.
"Where ya goin', punk?" drawled a voice. I brushed myself off and turned to face my enemies- Kealin, Jack, and Tesarasto. They were popular football players that always claimed that they were the best at everything. All of the girls loved them; Except for Itzy, that is.
Tesarasto was the leader of the gang, and so he stretched out his hand towards me.
"Give us the money, and we'll leave you alone", he smirked. "If not... then I guess you'll have to lose it the hard way."
Jack snickered and Kealin grinned. I could practically see the waves of anger coming from Itzy, but she stayed quiet.
I stepped forward and opened my mouth to retort, but an angry teacher's voice stopped me in my tracks.
"Get to class, NOW!" she bellowed. "Or I will write you all up!" Tesarasto shot one last glare at Itzy and I and we continued our walk to science class.
We entered the Science room and snuck to our seats in the back of the room at our own table. Mr. Flemington, our science teacher, was crazy about having everything in perfect order. No joke. He was OCD, but like, ten times worse.
The room was full of students already, and Mr. Flemington must've already given instructions. The students were talking loudly, stirring ingredients, and other sciencey stuff. On the table in front of Itzy and I was about every science ingredient you could think of: Hydrogen, Water, test tubes, etc.
Somebody must've said something funny, because the entire class laughed. Itzy giggled and her beautiful blond curls bounced and her blue eyes sparkled. Dylerians were so, so... similar to Humans. If anyone found out that Itzy was Dylerian, though, they would hurt her. It was against Human law for a Dylerian to come to Earth, or a Human to go to Dyleros.
I heard a buzzing sound in my head, like a radio station that wasn't stable. It was faint, not very loud, so I assumed that it was probably just my ears ringing. Wait... why would my ears be ringing?
Then, I heard a voice in my head that I knew wasn't mine. I knew exactly who it was. It was the same voice that I had heard when I had brought Itzy to Earth.
No, your ears aren't ringing,  it cackled. I could definitely tell it was male, and I began to remember something about voices in people's head...
My name is Nectarmegular Wrathymum, he continued. There are angry gashes in both of our planets. I would like to inhabit your body.

CHAPTER 2

RemitegDyleros

His name was Nectarmegular Wrathymum and lived on Dyleros. The main species on Dyleros were Dylerians. They were similar to Humans in some ways, but quite different in others.
Nectarmegular was born with a rare talent- The Power of the Elements. No two Dylerians with The Power of the Elements were the same. He was born with the most basic: Fire, Earth, Water, Air, and Steel.
Some Dylerians considered this power a curse. Others called them a gift.
Dyleros looked mostly like Earth. It had lakes, rivers, oceans, and land. It was more colorful, though. Trees were always different colors. However, Dyleros was only a third of Earth's size. Yep. Tiny.
Their technology was far more advanced, however. They specialized in weapons, though they rarely used them. The only time they used them was when another planet engaged them in battle, or when a Human came to Dyleros and corrupted their society.
The Andromeda Galaxy was home to the Dylerians. Well, except for every 3000 years, that is. Earth and Dyleros had a grudge, though nobody knew why. That's just the way it was.
The Dylerian population on Dyleros was a fourth of that of the Human population on Earth.
*                                       *                                      *
A week before Connection- RemitegDyleros

Nectarmegular shut his door behind him. He strolled through the colorful park, absorbing every detail. At least Dyleros wasn't polluted, unlike Earth.
Humans only got beautiful leaves in the fall. Pfft. His planet always had colorful leaves.
The buildings on Dyleros had been modeled after those on Earth. Without pollution! Nectarmegular nearly jumped ten feet in the air as speakers all around the town of Remiteg blared to life with the voice of the Dylerian mayor.
"Fellow citizens!" He yelled. Every person in town stopped, listening intently.
"We are approaching Earth!" Nectarmegular looked around. He saw a number of expressions on the faces of the citizens of Remiteg; Smiles faded to looks of terror, horror, anger, worry. He saw a little girl grasp her mother's hand, her eyes wide.
"I'm scared, Mommy," She whispered. Her mother looked down and mouthed, "It's okay."
"Everyone stay calm. The Connection will only last for five Dylerian years, one Earth year. I repeat, please remain calm. Have a great rest of your day."
Some mothers burst into tears, along with some children. Most of the children looked confused, however. Some adults looked shocked, their eyes wide.
Days on Dyleros were half as long as Earth days, but Dylerians only needed two hours of sleep. Dylerians lived to be about 900 years old. In Earth years, that's 300. This is because of the slight exponential growth in age as they get older.
Nectarmegular ran back to his apartment, kicked the door open, and pushed the door closed. He dashed into his computer room and jabbed the power button. There was only one thing to do; find Abner Young, share his conscience, and save the two Worlds.

CHAPTER 4

Archer LodgeNorth Carolina, Earth

I sat, my mind reeling. I tried to send a thought to Nectamerglar. Or, at least I thought that that was his name.
I heard an angry sigh. Call me Nectar.
I stifled a laugh and sent a thought back. Nectar?! What kinda name is that?! And by the way, why don't you just come to Earth? That would make things easier!
Nectar laughed. You Humans are fairly stupid sometimes... If I had wanted to come to your silly planet, I would've said that. But I didn't. Like I said, I want you inhabit your body. We need to heal the grudges and remove evil from the two planets. Not only that, but we need to end violence on your planet.Oh, and by the way, I'm still mad at you for taking Itzy.
I sighed. Well wah. She's miiine now. Back on task. I'll probably regret this...
I heard Nectar smack the palm of his hand into his forehead. Just-do-it!
Fine, I replied. I accept your request to inhabit my, Abner Keith Young, body. Suddenly, I felt a buzzing of power inside my body. I began to feel stronger. Then, I felt an immeasurable amount of pain, and heard screaming. I doubled over, clutching my head. Then it was all over, and I was left groaning.
I realized that my eyes were closed and opened them. Itzy and the rest of the class were staring at me, and Mr. Flemington had the fire extinguisher aimed at me.
"Itzy... what's going on?"
She winced slightly. "You were screaming..." I could've slapped myself. It had been me that was screaming. There went my reputation at school. Not that I had one, anyway.
I looked around. "Sorry for the, ah, worries, guys."
Mr. Flemington gave an almost, almost inaudible dog-like growl.
Uh oh, Nectar said. Get out of there! I gave a cocky laugh.
What is there to be afraid of? This is my science teacher we're talkin' about! He is pretty cool, I mean-
Nectar growled in frustration. That is one of the evil forces! Get out, NOW! I swear Abner, if you don't get out of there-
Just then, my awesome science teacher turned into a bear. Now that's something you don't see every day.

CHAPTER 5

Nectarmegular sat in the desk chair, his eyes glued to the screen-like thing in front of him. He watched as Abner's Science teacher turned into a bear. He slammed his fists on the table and held his head in his hands.
He was in an office room, it seemed, although he knew that he was inside Abner Young's head, seeing what Abner was seeing.
"Idiot!" He screamed. He saw Itzy shriek in terror as she leaped out of her chair. Lightning sparked across her fingers. He smiled. Itzy would take care of him. He had confidence in her. They had been best friends on Dyleros.
He didn't want to put the burden on her, though. Plus, he wanted to see her in person and use his powers a little.
"Let me take full control!" He yelled.
Are you sure? What will happen to me?
"Don't worry about it! You'll only be here, inside your own head. For now, just do what I say!"
The office room faded away, and soon he was standing beside Itzy, in Abner's body.
"Itzy, it's me," He whispered. She looked at him in concern.
"It's me. Nectarmegular. I'm sharing a body with Abner." She clapped her hands and hugged him tightly.
"Man oh man oh man!" She cried. "I missed you so much! I thought I'd never see you again!" It was like they were kids again. Abner gave an exasperated sigh as she released him.
Leave her alone! You let her go! She's mine!
Nectar smiled. Together, he and Itzy turned and faced the bear. They would do this together.
The bear frowned, if that's even possible. "Are you two done giving death talks? It's time to die!"
Nectar smiled at Itzy and she smiled back. Mr. Flemington took a swipe at him with a razor-sharp clawed paw. Nectar ducked and tackled him. He made water spray from the tip of his nose into the now-angry bear's face.
The bear roared. "Abner Young, give me the Dylerians, and I will leave you!"
Abner snarled. Tell him that I will, when pigs fly!
Um... Pigs do fly on Dyleros, Nectarmegular replied worriedly.
Abner sighed. Nevermind.
Nectar punched the bear in the snout several times. Left, right, left, right, left. Then, he raised Abner's hand and shot fire at his hairy face. Mr. Flemington rolled out of the way and time seemed to slow, showing him his worst mistake; The school wall caught fire.
He looked around and just then realized that the room was empty except for Itzy and him. Itzy was watched worriedly, standing there just in case Nectar needed help.
Fire alarms sprang to life as Nectar punched the bear for the last time and jumped to his feet. The bear rolled around, trying to grab his leg, but Nectarmegular was too fast to be caught. Itzy and he dashed out of the room into the hallway.
Teachers were running their way.
"GO BACK!" Itzy yelled at them. They stopped in confusion and she yelled again. Nectar and Itzy passed the teachers and they started running with them. By then, a fourth of the school was on fire.
Flemington-the-Bear bounded out of the room on all fours, charging after them. Nectar could see slobber dripping from his snout. The teachers screamed and ran faster. They rounded a corner. Nectar dashed into a classroom, alarms nearly deafening him. The bear's sense of smell must not have been very good, considering he just ran past.
Nectarmegular glanced around and saw an exit door just outside the classroom.
I could make it there, he thought, grinning. He was just about to charge out of the room when the world faded...
He found himself back in the office room, facing the theater-size screen. He pounded his fists on the table. The bear would kill Abner!

CHAPTER 6

I willingly took back control of my body. Itzy was gone! I swore under my breath.
You fool!, I cursed. Nectarmegular Wrathymum, how could you have possibly let her out of your sight?!
It doesn't matter! Nectar yelled back. She can take care of herself! Just get to the exit door and out of there!
I saw the door out of the corner of my eye. This is too easy... I thought. I sprinted towards it, and low and behold- The bear charged towards me. Great. It tackled me and we rolled across the slick hallway floor. I stared unbelieving at my arm, in which the bear raked his claws across.
Pain shot through my arm, momentarily blinding me. I scrambled to stand up, holding tears of pain back. I winced.
Here! I can lend you my power! I have fire, water, earth, air, and steel! Just concentrate and think about what you want to do. Focus!
I felt powerful. I had the Power of the Elements in my hand. Ha!
Flames swirled around and enveloped me for a second. My body was somehow hungrily absorbing it. I felt invincible. As I absorbed the fire, my scratches shrunk to small, fully healed scars.
I concentrated on the thought of the ground enveloping the bear. The fire swooshed away and the bear was suddenly trapped into the ground as if it were quicksand. It roared and struggled, trying to grab me. I slowly stepped backwards and felt a handle under my hands. The door!
I shoved it open and ran outside. Archer Lodge Middle School was now completely covered by a blanket of fire. Well, I never did really like that school, anyway.
It was chaos out- there were students everywhere, screaming. Fire trucks and ambulances filled the air with screaming sirens. The firemen were rushing to put out the fire. Paramedics ran around with stretchers full of people. It was like a giant hill of ants had just been stomped on.
A reporter stood in front of the school.
"...And there has been no known cause of this accident and-" Then, she saw me. "Hello there!" She said breathless. "I am reporting for WRED. Do you know what caused the fire?"
"No," I growled. "Go away. This involves things that you would never understand. Leave now."
She looked at me, startled. "Why do you feel that way?"
I pulled back a fist and it collided with her face. She fell, surprised. She rubbed her cheek. "O-okay! I'm leaving! I swear!"
She gestured to the cameraman, and he helped her up. Together, they left the scene.
See, Nectar? I can be scary when I want to.
Nectar snickered.
I turned to face the school. Now, instead of being the antagonist and burning down the school... I would fix it.
You fool! Nectar scolded me, already reading my thoughts to repair the school. You can't use my power of steel to repair the school! You'll be seen and captured, sent to death! You and I both know that it is against the law for a Dylerian  to be on Earth in any way!
I ignored him.
You idiot! Even if you could, I only have a limited amount of steel left!
I ignored him. See the pattern yet?
The school was on fire. Smoke polluted the air. People screamed. Chaos covered Archer's Lodge like a blanket.
I closed my eyes and pressed my fingers to my temple. I had to concentrate. Majorly. This would drain me.
I concentrated. I began to sweat as I pictured the school building framed by steel bars to prevent it from burning or collapsing. A headache emerged from nowhere. My head pounded and I winced, placing every bit of my focus on framing the school in steel.
I opened my eyes and voila! The entire school was framed by giant, gray bars of steel. The world was fuzzy. The school was no longer on fire. But, the trees were!
Then it hit me- The backside of the school, the closest to the woods that I had lived for so long.
And with that thought, I collapsed and slipped into unconsciousness.

CHAPTER 7

Nectarmegular paced the office room, fuming. Everything would've gone perfect if that imbecile Abner Young hadn't had interfered!
If Abner went into the woods, he would be burnt to a crisp. If he didn't, the police would catch him and interview him. The choices were limited, and both were severe.
There was no doubt that people would blame the fire on the Dylerians. Although, in this case, the accusation would be true.
Incoming call, said the small chip implanted into his brain. It was virtually harmless, and allowed him to communicate without having to hold a cell phone, or use bluetooth (like the Humans do).
Nectar spoke quietly so that Abner would not hear him. "ID of the caller, please."
The cool, female voice of the chip responded. Caller unknown.
Nectarmegular sighed. "Accept." There was a beep, then a male's gruff voice.
Remove yourself from the Human, it said. You cannot save the two planets- I will. Release the Human, and I will hurt no one.
Great. Another obstacle in the great plan. This one sounded tough, though. Who was this person? How did he know that Nectar was partnering with Abner?
"No way!" He hissed. "End Call."
Call ended.

CHAPTER 8

Nectarmegular sat at the table with his head in his hands. Who was trying to destroy him now? He couldn't afford to die- He had another plan; One that no one knew, not even Abner Young.
What was that, Nectar? You have a plan that I don't know?
Nectar cursed. The thought link! He had forgot about that! Besides, how was he awake already?! That immense amount of concentration and draining of power could kill a Human!
"Nothing, Abner," He said hurriedly. "Let's just continue saving the universe."
Which way do I go?!, Abner's exasperated voice filled his head.
"Just go towards your camp!"
But it's on fire!
"It doesn't matter, just GO!" Abner ran towards the back of the school. Fire had enveloped the trees. Fearless of fire, Abner ran into the woods. He was a fool! Didn't he know to be careful? The fire could kill him!
No it won't!, Abner argued. Remember?! We're immune!
Nectar smacked himself. Duh! How could he have forgotten? He was the one with the powers!
Abner turned around and faced the school. See? He said. Watch. I've been thinking about possibilities to control your powers! Abner stuck his arm out and concentrated. Flames surrounded his arms as his body began to absorb the flames. He laughed.
Nectar was speechless. Abner Young had already managed to control Nectar's powers!
"Get going!", Nectar barked. Abner turned and ran. They passed his former Shed-in-a-Box. Abner Young's belongings were on fire.
Hold on, Abner said. I need to get something!
He ran into the shed, where smoke was emerging from. Nectar watched panicky. Inside the tent was loafs of bread, other food, and tools. Among them was a machete, which Abner reached for. He coughed and waved his hand to clear the air- except it didn't help.
Abner stumbled out of the shed and kept running. Up ahead, they could see the light of a clearing in the woods. Silently, Nectar congratulated himself. He had gotten them to the clearing!
Ahem, Abner snarled. You got us to the clearing? More like did all the work!
"Whatever!"

CHAPTER 9

My legs began to give out. I had done a lot of running and fighting today. I bet none of you reading this had never fought fights like that before, or had to run for your life. Am I right?
I sprinted towards the exit and there- Sunlight blinded me momentarily as I collapsed from exhaustion. Time to forget the world for a second; I needed to rest.
No time to rest!, Nectar scolded me. Look in front of you!
I wearily looked up and saw something that completely want to jump off a bridge: There was something with an Eagle's beak and head, giant Hummingbird body, an Eagle's feet, and a Lion's tail. Its body was snow white, however. It screeched loudly as its head swiveled to face me. It had been drinking from the small pond in front of it.
"Wha... what is that, Nectar?!"
It's a Griffin... Nectar said slowly. Slowly walk away before it-
The Griffin screeched and flapped its huge, Eagle-like wings, flying towards me. I panicked and threw my machete at it. In midair, the machete did something it had never done; It transformed into a Jade green sword.
I gasped as my sword struck the Griffin's wing and the wing... er, disappeared. There was no bloodshed, and, like I said, no wing either. It fell to the ground and squawked loudly. It didn't sound very friendly. It stood up and stumbled a bit, its eyes full of hate. I looked at its wing wound, where a wing had once been. To my surprise, a new wing was already growing back in its place.
I gulped and ran past the Griffin. So how can I see this stuff all of a sudden, Nectar? It's like this stuff just appeared out of no where!
I don't know how it happened... Said Nectar. But I think that it happened because you became part of the Fantasy Dimension whenever I joined your conscience.
"Ah. That makes perfect sense,"
I picked up my sword as I dashed past. I dived into the pond. Just as I had shown Nectar, I threw out my hand and my body began to absorb the water hungrily. The remains swirled around me, making a miniature water tornado. I felt powerful. Unstoppable. Undefeatable.
The Griffin made a sound that reminded me of laughter. Was he underestimating me? If he was, he was about to regret it!
He trotted towards me and screeched. I let loose any control I had over the water. I turned into a mini tidal wave and slammed into the Griffin, me riding the wave. I landed on the Griffin and raised my sword to end the fight, when...
I saw a look of sadness, loneliness in the his eyes and lowered my sword. I couldn't kill an animal like that. Maybe he had been through something similar to me.
The Griffin nuzzled my arm. I smiled. "You're lonely too, hm? How about we travel together?"
He nodded and nuzzled my arm again. I guess that was a yes.
"I'll call you... Blizzard."
Blizzard nodded. It looked up at me with multicolored eyes.
That Griffin isn't normal, said Nectar.
"Well naw dip, Sherlock," I said. "It's part of the Fantasy Dimension!" Blizzard looked at me and tilted his head.
That's not what I meant! That Griffin is-
"Dude, just shut up and leave me be for once. Okay?"
Nectar sighed in frustration. You never listen to anything I say! If you got a penny every time you ignored me when I tried to say something important, you'd be a multi-billionaire! Just listen to me! This is more important than anything you've ever heard!
"Somebody has a temper" I said snidely.
See? You're saying that I'm getting mad because you won't listen! It is vital that you listen!
"I don't give a crap!" I yelled. "If I cared about what you were talking about, I would listen!"
Nectar growled. Of all the people that I could've saved the world with, it HAD to be you!
Blizzard stomped nervously. I glared at him, although I wasn't mad at him. It was Nectarmegular Wrathymum that was really pushing my buttons. If only I could grab his neck and strangle him-
Pfft, Nectar interrupted my thoughts. You couldn't do anything to me, He taunted. I didn't care. I just ignored him. Problem solved.
I looked around and guess what? Fire had surrounded the clearing! My only way out was up, and I needed to save my powers for later. So that left one option: Blizzard.
I looked at the wing that I had cut off, and to my delight, a wing had already grown back!
"Can I ride your back, uh, as you fly?" No jokes, please.
Blizzard nodded and knelt down. I climbed aboard, my sword still in my hand. I had to hold on with one hand and hope that I didn't fall off. He crouched, ready to spring.
"Hurry!" I yelled. "We'll get burnt to a crisp!" My new pet Griffin sprang into the air and flew away from the school. It was fun; more fun than anything I had ever experienced. The wind pushed through my hair like a cloud hairbrush. If cloud hairbrushes existed, of course. Although if they did, I didn't doubt that one bit by now.

CHAPTER 10

"Stay above the clouds," I commanded. After all, if we didn't, we would be seen and marked as a threat. We flew over North Carolina for about an hour, and passed over an abandoned beach in South Carolina. Blizzard huffed warily.
"'You tired?" I asked. He nodded with barely any energy. He gave a screech, and I saw blood splatter his wings. Blood stained his snow-white feathers. I looked down; an arrow sprouted from his torso. I looked below us and raked the land with my eyes. There were trees. Trees were bad. People could hide in trees.
Blizzard lost control and plummeted to the ground. He screeched and managed to glide on his wings at the last second, landing with an oof in the sand. I, on the other hand... uh oh. I closed my eyes. This was the end. I would die by falling from the clouds. I would never see Itzy again.
The Power of the Elements! Nectar yelled.
How would that help me, Nectar? I'm falling from three thousand feet in the air...
Nectar cursed. Don't you dare give up now! We have worlds to save, Enitzaria to see! I will not accept you dying. You and I are the only creatures designed to save the two worlds, besides that Griffin!
I thought at depth about this problem as I plummeted towards Earth. Use the wind! Nectar screamed. Of course! How could I have been so stupid?! I managed to focus enough to control the winds. I flew around. I was flying- on my own! I shook and landed face first next to Blizzard. I sat up and spit sand out of my mouth and wiped my face off. I needed to work on landing. Salty air filled my lungs and the wing ruffled my hair. If I wasn't scared to death, running for my life, and just had my Griffin shot by an arrow, this would've been a perfect day to enjoy the ocean. But, noo! This was reality! Imagine reality ruining a perfect day! That could never happen!
Sarcasm aside, Blizzard bled as I rushed over to him. I quickly tore of part of my shirt and put it around the arrow. I grabbed the arrow and yanked it out.
Blizzard roared and fluttered his wings. I pressed the cloth against the wound. Within seconds, the wound stopped bleeding and all that was left was a scar. I looked up and scanned the area. I nearly jumped ten feet in the air. We were surrounded by women in green cloaks. With red hair. But, they didn't look very friendly, unlike my trusty little Griffin.
Blizzard screeched and his Eagle face resembled terror. Our backs faced the ocean as the women made a semi circle around us.
My first fight was against women wearing green cloaks. With red hair. Pfft. This was gonna be easy. But how did they appear so easily without me seeing? I must've been so focused on helping Blizzard that I didn't notice. Note to self: Watch surroundings and drink coffee. Yes. Coffee would definitely help keep me focused.
The women were smiling broadly as if we were family.
"Abner Young," one of them said.
"Using names, are we now?" I countered. "Well, nice ta meet ya, Ugly Red Raired Woman of Green Cloaks!" She ignored me and continued as if I hadn't spoken.
"Hand over the Dylerian and we will leave you alone."
"Boy, if I had a penny for every time I've heard that... You guys sure do like Dylerians, don't you? Give me da Dylerian, hand over da Dylerian, yada yada yada. It gets annoying, ya know."
Her cheeks flushed with anger and continued as if I hadn't spoken, although she was doing it with great difficulty. I looked into her inhumanly blue eyes. I knew at once that this was a mistake.
Suddenly, she looked so beautiful. The most beautiful creature in the universe. I tried to look away but couldn't. My gaze was stuck.
"Or else." She finished. All I wanted was to give her the Dylerian. What bad would it do? I could come up with three reasons to do what she said, after all; She was trustworthy, beautiful, and beautiful. Did I mention that she was beautiful?
I suddenly felt a quick, sharp pain in my arm and immediately faced my right arm. I snapped out of it. Blizzard was glaring at me. He screeched, which I translated as 'Dude you're gonna die if you don't stop looking at them.'
"Abner Young," another one said. "Hand over the Dylerian... or die." I grinned.
"Never" I said confidently. "Whatcha gonna do about it? Put me in time out?" Blizzard snickered. The two most commonly used phrases in stories: "Hand over the [whatever] or die!" and "Never!"
The women all took a step forward, agitated. They clearly were expecting me to cooperate. Hahaha!
"Do you really think that you can fight us?" The first woman asked.
"Well, obviously," I replied. "If I couldn't, I wouldn't be standing here like a fool!"
Somebody got confident quickly, Nectar remarked. Don't get too carried away; they can be tough. I grinned. I would take them easily.
"Very well young one. I shall give you one last chance. Hand over the Dylerian... Or die."
"How many times have I told you no to that question?" I asked through gritted teeth. I raised my Jade-green sword and lunged. One of the women sidestepped my attack and laughed. All of a sudden, they grew long nails, wings, and a tail. Great.
I gulped as Blizzard screeched and dove at one of them. The woman-creature-thing flew over him and laughed.
They sure do laugh a lot, I told Nectar.
Yeah, lol. He replied. I facepalmed.
Really, dude? Really? Freaking really?
Yep, yep, and yep, He laughed.
Blizzard screeched and flew up to engage the woman in battle. I turned to the woman-creature nearest me and sliced it in half, taking it by surpriseHa! She dissipated and I grinned.
One of the she-creatures lunged at me and I shoved her out of instinct. On touch, she turned to steel and fell onto the ground. I thought that I was out of steel! Apparently not.
Watch it! Nectar yelled, and I ducked as a she-creature attempted to shred me to, well, shreds with her claws. One slash from my sword, and the woman dissipated. I took a quick count. There were only five women left, not including the one that Blizzard was fighting.
I ran towards another creature. I thrusted out my left hand as chunks of rock slammed into her. She fell and I ran towards her, raised my sword, and sliced. She dissipated and I felt claws dig into my back. I had let my guard down!
The woman pulled my head back and forced me to look into her eyes. "Give... me... the... Dylerian!" She said through gritted teeth. I struggled to look away and fell under her spell.
Just as I thought it was over, Blizzard slammed into the woman. I blinked and snapped out of it. Stupid hypnosis crap.
The woman that Blizzard was tearing to shreds dissipated. I scanned Blizzard for injuries and found that he was severely cut. Oh well. They would be gone in a few seconds.
There were two more women. It was time to end this party! I made sure not to make contact with their inhumanly blue eyes.
They both sprinted towards us. I lunged, pulled my sword back, and thrusted it forward. I smiled to myself as the one on the right dissipated. The last one swiped her claws at me. I raised my sword and sliced the ends off.
The woman howled angrily. "How dare you?! You cut my nails!"
"Wah!" I said mockingly. She jumped and flew backwards and up, her wings flapping smoothly.
"I will be back," She declared. "With more."
"Not so fast, Ugly Face!" I said, and the winds circled me, lifting me off of the ground due to the trusty concentration of mine. I hovered in front of the woman. In a flash, she slashed my arm with her claws. Ouch.
I slashed at her with my sword. She didn't stand a chance, and so dissipated.
Good job! Nectar congratulated me. A lot of people couldn't have done that!
I was exhausted; that battle had drained me. Plus, I had already been drained from saving the school earlier. The world turned black and I plummeted to Earth.

CHAPTER 11

I woke up in a dark room. I raised my hand to rub my head; it was pounding. Except, I couldn't move. My nerves finally fired up, and I found that I was sitting on the floor, tied to a wall. Like a deer head. Well, one with its body on the floor. Close enough.
Where are we? Nectar chimed in.
I dunno, don't ask me, I replied.
I looked around, somewhat being able to see. Blizzard was nowhere to be seen. I began to panic. I struggled with the ropes that held me.
The room was basically empty besides a few random things: an old TV, golf clubs, a survival knife, and a few basket balls. It seemed like someone's garage.
There was only one door, though. Luckily, it was wooden. Wood burns easily. Ha!
Speaking of burn... I lit my nose on fire, and to my great delight, I could see the entire room. Well, okay, most of it.
The door swung open and adrenaline rushed through me. A girl who looked like she was ten years old walked in and closed the door behind herShe flicked on the light and I could see her clearly. She didn't seem like a threat, though. Her black hair matched my dyed hair, and her glittering green eyes responded to mine.
"So he finally wakes," She grinned. I frowned.
Who is this girl? She seems a lot more innocent than I think she is... I asked Nectar.
I imagined his brow wrinkling in concentration.
don't know, I've never seen her before.
Hm... responded thoughtfullyI wonder who she is.
The girl began to speak. "Hello brother." She said. "Long time no see!"
There was no way this girl was my sister... My sister had been depressed. Besides she had blond hair and blue eyes... like me!
As if she were reading my mind, she answered. "I changed my appearance to match you. To show that you and I would always be related."
"That can't be you, Abby..." I said, my voice shaking. "My little sister would never be evil!"
You never told me that you had a sister! What did you do to make her this way?!
I didn't do anything! I protested. We had, er, problems, and left her behind at one point, but that's it!
Let me try to pretend to be on her side. I can ask her permission to share her conscience. I would still be with you, of course. I will just take a peek in her head, see what's going on. Cool?
Sure... I replied reluctantly. I trusted Nectar. Kinda. I hoped he was trustworthy.
I'll say 'hello' when I'm back. Okay?
Sure.
And with that, Nectar left my head to possibly save my sister.
"So, sis, what's up?" I asked coolly. She turned her back to me.
"Hold on a second," She said and pressed her fingers to her temple. She nodded and turned around towards me, grinning.
Then she doubled over, screaming and holding her head.

CHAPTER 12

"Abby!" I yelled. She stopped screaming and stood up shakily.
"That hurt!" She yelled. I guessed that she was talking to Nectar and didn't reply. "Oh..." She said, and nodded. "That's why it hurt."
Hello! She has Dark Magic controlling her; the only way to get rid of it is for me to go in and try to fight it. Some Evil dude is controlling her for some reason. Probably to lure you. So, I may be gone for a while...
A man flung the door open and jumped down the stairs. He had blond hair and blue eyes that matched his white lab coat. This dude must've been a scientist. But he seemed familiar... Who was he though?
"Abigail!" The man cried. "What did he do to you?! I could hear you screaming form the laboratory!" He shot a look of disgust at me. I stuck my tongue out.
"Nothing daddy," She replied smoothly. "I just accidently cut myself with a knife..." She looked in his eyes. "Be gone now." The man stood up as if in a trance and walked back out the door, closing it behind him. Then I finally recognized him; he had been my adoptive father- but he had never been that nice!
I needed to get out of here. Could I use Nectar's powers if he was in someone else's head? I pressed my hand to the wooden wall and thought about setting it on fire. It blazed with an orange light and the light spread across the wall. Well, I guess I could use it when he was absent. Yes!
The fire crackled viciously and quickly spread across the room. The girl screamed again. I knew the fire wouldn't affect either of us- we were immune. Ha! The fire spread onto my ropes and began to chew away at them.
The girl coughed and waved her hand. I held my breath and tried not to breathe. The door burst open and the man ran in, holding a pistol.
"Not so fast!" He declared. I struggled with my ropes and I broke free. Time to get outta here!
"Daddy, you fool, get over here and help me!" Abby wailed, coughing harder than ever.  She collapsed and passed out.
The man rushed over to her and knelt beside her. Abigail sat up and glared at her father. There was no way she was awake already; Nectar must've taken over.
"Stay away from me, Daddy," She said, her voice dripping with poison. The man looked at her and narrowed his eyes.
"You just told me to help you... Abigail, what's going on here?!"
"Nothing Daddy, Nectar said quickly. "I love you!" Abby's body hugged him.
"You're dead." Nectar said dangerously and turned the man to steel. Nectar turned to me. "Time to leave this circus," He said, and I had to remember that this was Nectarmegular Wrathymum, not Abigail Young. I looked up; The roof had began to sag.
I nodded to Nectar. "We have to push through."
He nodded grimly and we soared up to the roof. Together, we broke through the roof. The searing-hot wood burned our faces as we tumbled toward the ground, screaming.

CHAPTER 13

A blur of white flashed and Nectar (Abby) and I were sitting on something, flying through the air. Was I dead?
My eyes adjusted to the darkness of the wilderness and found that Blizzard had saved me and Nectar from several bruises. He had my sword in his beak. He lowered us onto the ground and nudged me affectionately. I was blinded with pain; I could still feel the pain of the searing wood. Nectar was laying down, clutching his (Abby's) face.
Your sister has taken control of her own body now, Nectar informed me. There is no more Dark Magic inside of her.
Abigail sat up. "Ow... my face!" She cried. I walked over to her and sat down. She hugged me tightly. "I haven't seen you in a while, Abner!" She said hastily. "I've missed you so much! Why did you leave me with them? Where have you been all these years?"
"I missed you too, because I had to, and living in the woods." I replied.
Nectar, you take first watch, since you Dylerians only need two hours of sleep. Wake me up at four, and I'll watch until six. Then we need to move on. I checked my watch. It was 9:00 P.M. Good.
Ugh, fine. He responded. But I'll have to take control because you have a watch. And by the way, your sister has been exposed to the Fantasy Dimension. So, we'll have to protect her from now on.
Oh great... Well, for now, we need to sleep. See ya in the morning.
The world faded, and I was back in the office room that I had only once been in before. I watched the screen as Nectar told my sister to go to sleep. I laid down on the floor and drifted to sleep...
*                                       *                                      *
Nectar sat and intently watched his surroundings for a while. He would protect Abner and Abby while they slept. Without a doubt.
To him, there were some advantages and disadvantages of having the traits of a Dylerian. You didn't really need much sleep. If you were lucky, you had powers. But at the same time, you had to avoid getting killed by the barbarous civilization of the Humans. Jeez. What a life.
Blizzard yawned and shifted loudly. That was another thing. The Griffin. It wasn't normal! If only Abner knew what it was, who it was...
Abner Young had great potential. He had seen part of the future; a Dylerian Mage had shown him.
He was destined to save the two Worlds with him. Except he had an alternative way to do it. He grinned to himself. It was a plan so huge, so vast, that even the Dylerian mages could not even dream of it. He would-
A bush rustled. Nectar stood up silently and crept towards the tree, Abner's sword in hand. He saw a shadow. There!
He raised the sword to strike.
"Abner, stop!" Screamed a voice shrilly. Nectar froze. A figure stood up behind the bush.
"It's me!" She said shakily. Enitzaria!
"Don't sneak up on us like that!" Nectar scolded her. "You could've had yourself killed!"
"Abner? Are you okay?"
"'M not Abner. It's me, Nectarmegular."
"Nectar!" She hugged him tightly. "I was worried about you guys!"
Abby stirred and turned on her side. Nectar looked at Enitaria and put his finger to his lips. She nodded and they walked toward their small sleeping spot.
They sat down and held hands, facing each other.
"How did you find us?" Nectar asked.
Itzy shrugged. "I hacked into your- I mean, Abner's phone and used GPS to pinpoint your location. It was easy, actually." Nectarmegular nodded.
"Makes sense." He checked Abner's watch. It was 3:30 A.M already... He looked into Enitzaria's eyes and a silent conversation passed between the two.
He stood up and jogged back to the trees. Nectarmegular looked down at the sword. Was there a way to change it back to a machete? He thought one word: Change.
Miraculously, the sword changed back to a rusty, old machete. He smiled to himself. See? He was learning. Still. He began slicing small trees into small chunks of wood. He twirled and slashed so fast that he was a blur.
He was enjoying this, being able to practice fighting. He stopped, sweating. A ton of trees had been reduced to a hunkin' lot of wood. He began carrying the wood back to the spot next to the ocean where they slept.
There. That was enough. Nectarmegular pressed his hand to the limbs and concentrated. Fire lit the branches.
"Agh!" Nectar shadowed his eyes. Slowly, they began to adjust to the light of the fire.
Itzy looked around and gasped as she saw Blizzard. She covered her mouth. "Nectarmegular... is that... Him?!"
"Yes," Nectar said calmly. "Abner didn't listen to me, but I tried to tell him that that Griffin was Him. Oh well. I guess he'll have to learn the hard way."
Itzy put her head on his chest and closed her eyes. He put his arm on her shoulder.
"I've missed you, Nectarmegular." She said drowsily.
Nectar rubbed her back. "I've missed you too, Enitzaria. Go to sleep now; there's no telling how long you've been without sleep."
She nodded and drifted off. He wouldn't wake Abner. He would be arrogant and get in the way of him and Itzy. He wouldn't allow it.
He closed his eyes and the world faded away...

CHAPTER 14

"Abner!" A girl's voice screamed shrilly. Nectar opened his eyes and found himself back in the office room. Crap.
I see you're awake! said Abner angrily. Thanks for not waking me up!
"You're very welcome" Nectar replied smoothly. He looked at the screen; A bag of chex mix was in Abner's hand and Blizzard- uh... Blizzard was squealing and rolling around. Wait- He was on fire!
Enitzaria was screaming bloody murder. "Put it out, Abner!" She screamed. "You can't kill him! He's VERY important!"
"I'm outta water!" Abner yelled in protest.
Enitzaria growled in frustration and snapped her fingers. Nectar nearly jumped ten feet in the air as a water hose appeared out of nowhere. He forgot- One of Itzy's powers was the ability to summon things
She sprayed Blizzard to death with that thing. A few seconds later, there were no more burns left to tell that it had happened.
Enitzaria looked accusingly at Abner. "You disgust me." She said and looked away.
"Why did you do that?!" Nectarmegular yelled at Abner.
I didn't do it! He yelled in response. I just woke up and he was on fire! The powers must've activated without my permission!
"Permission my butt!" Nectar growled. "If you can't control it, I'm not gonna let you use my powers!"
*                                       *                                      *
I sighed. I had been an accident! I threw a few pieces of chex mix in my mouth that Itzy had given me.Why did she hate me? She was lying. She loved me as much as I loved her... right?
Blizzard shook his head and glared at me. His multi-colored eyes shone at me. He was angry.
I picked up my machete and he scooted towards Itzy. Wait... how was it a machete? It had transformed into a sword yesterday... did it wear off, or something?
Think the word 'Change', and It'll turn back into a sword.
Well, I kinda trusted Nectar, so I did it. The machete grew into the familiar four-feet long Jade-green sword that I had held before.
"I won't hurt you!" I exclaimed. I couldn't lose my pet Griffin! I handed him the rest of the chex mix and he eyed me suspiciously.
"We have to move, now!" Itzy yelled suddenly. "The Evil Forces are approximately thirty seconds away!" She was looking at her phone, eyes wide. "NOW!"
I began controlling the winds. Itzy and I hovered, carrying Abby between us.
"Awesome!" Abigail said. "This is the coolest thing ever!"
We waited for Blizzard, who began flapping his wings. Itzy must've had the power to control the winds, like Nectar. Cool!
Blizzard began to get a running start on the sandy beach. The smoke from the fire! They must have used the smoke to find us!
At the horizon, the sky was pink. I had always thought that the sunrise was beautiful. It was. Always will be. Something light landed on me, Abigail and Itzy, interrupting my thoughts. We crashed to the ground, five feet below us.
"No way!" Itzy yelled. "It's only been ten seconds! They hacked the GPS!" I observed our restraint and found that it was a net. Great. We were captured. But why, then, did we fall to the ground?
I looked around for Blizzard. He was a few feet away, his eyes bulging. There was a rope around his neck... I covered Abby's eyes with my hands. I tried to look away, but my eyes were locked on the terrifying scene in front of me. Blizzard body went rigid and he fell over, eyes glazed.
I stared unbelieving at my pet Griffin. How could they?! Itzy screamed angrily.
"I will murder you!" She yelled through gritted teeth. "I will make you pay!" Tears spilled down her beautiful, angelic face.
Enitzaria pulled at the net, desperately trying to break it. She thrashed around angrily as I still stared at Blizzard. He had been like, my best friend. He had died thinking that I hated him. That I tried to kill him. My cheeks started to itch and I realized I had been crying.
As if I had been in a dream, I woke up. Screams filled my ears. They were mine, of course. Screams of my hatred for whoever killed Blizzard, hatred for my life, hatred for life itself.
Abby started crying. "Abner, what's going on? I wanna go home!"
"There is no home for us now, Abigail" I shook my head.
She nodded and kept quiet.
A boy stepped out of the shadows. His midnight-black hair flew in the wind and his red eyes glittered evilly. Great. This was the last thing I needed.
"There is no point in struggling" He said calmly. "They only release themselves on my word." This guy was really asking for it. I wanted to put my fist in his face.
I looked behind him and noticed a lot of movement. A lot of Ugly Red Raired Women of Green Cloaks, regular men and women(or so they seemed), and snakes that stood on legs stopped right behind him. I'm gonna call the snake things snake people, if ya don't mind.
They were green and scaly, and had snouts.
Abby screamed.
Calm down and help her, Nectar ordered. You'll lose control of yourself. Focus.
I hugged her. "We're fine now"
"The Dylerian powers don't work when you're in that net. Also, it amplifies your emotions more and more the longer that you are contained inside," The boy continued. "After all, you and I both know that it is illegal for Dylerians to reside on Earth. Do we not?"
I literally growled at him. "Stay away from her!"
"Oh it's not her I'm after," the boy said. "It's the powers I want." He turned and nodded to the women creatures. Two of the stepped forward and strode towards us. I made sure to avoid eye contact.
They sat in front of us. I looked at the ground, careful not to look up. I looked over at Itzy. The one in front of her, I noticed, flickered. It looked like a muscled-up guy at first, then flickered again and was a woman. Itzy must've been seeing the guy. I tensed, holding Abby. I wouldn't let anyone near her. I couldn't lose her again.
The woman grabbed my head with her clawed hands and tried to make me look her in the eyes. I glanced over at Itzy. She seemed to be mesmerized, but wasn't looking the "guy" in the eyes.
"Sure," She said. I looked at the woman holding my head and oops- made eye contact.
"Give me the power" She said. Of course. Why not? It couldn't hurt anything.
"Sure, okay." I replied dreamily. The boy from before snapped his fingers. The net disappeared. I saw Itzy holding the "guy's" hand. I felt a boiling anger in my stomach, but it disappeared immediately.
"Can I hold Abner's hand?" Enitzaria asked the boy nicely.
"Sure." I gripped Abigail's hand.
Itzy's hand tightly gripped mine as the women put their hands on our backs and they prepared to deprive us of The Power of the Elements.
NO! Nectar screamed. Abner Young, WAKE UP! Don't let them take The Power!
I felt a small bit of pain in my hand and woke up from the mesmerization. Itzy was desperately pinching my hand. She winked at me and squeezed my hand.
Suddenly, our surroundings changed and we were in the woods, near the beach. We heard shouts of confusion behind us and the thumping of several footsteps. Adrenaline rushed through me as I took off carrying Abby, Itzy at my heels.

CHAPTER 15

"Get them!" The boy screamed. Itzy grabbed my hand again and she kept changing our surroundings, putting us farther and farther ahead of the Evil Forces. As if she had read my mind, she spoke.
"Teleportation is one of my powers," she said breathlessly. "I can't teleport more than 100 feet away at a time."
I nodded, unable to speak. We kept teleporting along until Itzy literally collapsed from exhaustion. We had lost the Evil Forces.
"Cover... me..." She panted, and passed out. That must've drained her energy.
Well naw dip, Sherlock! She just saved your crappy life at the almost expense of hers! She almost died trying to save you!
I shakily sat down. My adrenaline high faded away, leaving me weak and tired. I dropped my sword and darkness enveloped me, tossing me into the world of sleep...
*                                       *                                      *
"Wake up!" A girl's voice said shrilly, but quietly. A hand left a stinging mark on my face and I bolted to my feet, grabbed the intruder, and pulled my fist back.
"Abner!" The intruder screamed. I warily opened my eyes to find that the intruder wasn't an intruder. It was Itzy. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying. I stood up and helped her up.
"Um... sorry about that, Itzy." She glared at me and crossed her arms. Behind her, the sun had just began to come up. It was so beautiful; shades of pink, orange, and purple colored the sky. The sun sat just below the horizon. One of my favorite times of the day.
Enitzaria slapped me. Ow. "We need to get going," She said quietly. I searched her eyes for a sign of sadness. Her eyes were a cloudy gray, as most mysterious clouds are.
I nodded and picked up my sword. I walked over to Abby, who was sound asleep on the grassy ground. I shook her and picked her up.
"Wake up," I said softly, as she sleepily opened her eyes. I set her down and looked around for Blizzard. I didn't see him and finally remembered... he was dead.
"Blizzard!" I screamed. I turned and sprinted back. Back to where Blizzard died. Back to where I lost my best friend...
Itzy shouted after me, trying to tell me it was hopeless. He was dead. I didn't care. I kept running, Itzy and Abigail yelling at me, trying to keep up.
"You'll get us killed!" She screamed. Suddenly, she appeared in front of me. Surprised, I barreled right into her. We crashed to the ground and she grabbed my arms. Itzy looked into my eyes, hers spilling with tears.
"You have to stop, Abner" She pleaded. "This is something that affects Time. Neither of us can interfere until the time has come. Please. Please."
I put my head in my hands as I heard Abby arrive. She sat down beside me and hugged me tightly. Itzy joined her and gave me a tight hug.
I felt a little better, but not much. And, how did this affect Time? It was just a Griffin. Blizzard, my Griffin. The only pet that I had ever had.
